What Valutra is (and what it is not)
Valutra helps you plan your future cashflow.
- It is not accounting software.
- It does not replace your bookkeeping or tax tools.
- It helps you answer: “If I keep going like this, what will my balance look like in the next weeks/months?”
Before you start
You need:
- an account (login)
- at least one bank account inside the app (this is where your balances live)
Try the public demo
If you want to explore Valutra without creating your own data, you can use the public demo.
- The demo is read-only.
- For viewing and calculations it behaves like extended/PRO usage (not limited by the free usage limits).
Demo data scope:
- Payments: the two last complete calendar years before the current year.
- Income from projects/contracts: up to 2 years into the future.
- Assets: may include some older history (not critical for understanding the app).
Step-by-step: build your first forecast
1) Create a bank account
Create one bank account in the app.
What you should see:
- the bank account appears in your list
2) Enter a starting balance
Add the current balance (today) as a starting balance for that bank account.
What you should see:
- the overview/forecast starts with this balance
3) Add 2–3 plan items
Add a few plan items (future events), for example:
- salary (incoming)
- rent (outgoing)
- a subscription (outgoing)
What you should see:
- the forecast curve changes based on those plan items
4) When real payments exist, connect them
Later, when real payments exist, you can connect a payment to a planned instance.
Important rule (no double counting):
- if a payment exists for an instance, the payment wins
Troubleshooting
My forecast looks wrong
Check these common mistakes:
- starting balance missing / wrong
- plan items have the wrong direction (IN vs OUT)
- plan items have the wrong dates
